This painting marks the second work in a growing body of art shaped by viewpoint. An evolving exploration of how perspective influences interpretation. The first piece, 'From Above, From Within', began with a fleeting moment: witnessing a flock of galahs feeding by a sorghum field, glimpsed from the ground but imagined from above. With aerial reference photos proving elusive, I envisioned the scene from an unfamiliar angle. That act of imagining became a quiet meditation on what we might uncover when we step outside ourselves and view the world from a different vantage point. This second piece, 'From Above, Toward Understanding', deepens that inquiry. The circular composition gestures toward the grace and empathy that arise when we try to see from perspectives that are not our own.
