Our Vision And History
We held our first art exhibition in 1987, with the support of our art department and the Parents and Friends Committee. The preparation was long and challenging, undertaken by a dedicated group of individuals. However, the effort was certainly worth it.
As the doors opened, attendees were greeted by a dazzling array of fine paintings and prints showcasing glorious colors and variety, along with intricate silver art, glass creations, ceramics, and crafts. Each alcove and turn revealed beautiful pieces to admire or purchase. There was something for every art enthusiast, with enough variety in style and form to please everyone.
The opening night was particularly successful, attracting around 200 people to the Graham Centre for a champagne reception and gourmet supper, all accompanied by music.
The exhibition was not only a cultural triumph but also a significant financial success. It helped fund new art equipment, expand the school’s art collection, and contribute to the future artist-in-residence program at the school.
