This piece was inspired by the King Parrots that visit my garden – a place of calm, colour and connection. Their presence feels like a gift, especially in quiet moments when the world feels overwhelming. The gardens that surround my home has become a sanctuary, not just for the birds, but for me as well. I wanted this painting to honour the peace I find in nature and the stillness that can be shared between us all. Through layered brushwork, rich colour and movement in the background, I’ve tried to capture that gentle energy – where life pauses, beauty lingers and healing begins. It’s a reminder that even in the chaos, there are spaces that hold us quietly, where the wild and the calm coexist. This sanctuary – amongst the gums, the birds and the breeze - is one I return to again and again.
