Ink on Jute
For Sale
Honouring place on the traditional lands of the Jagera, Giabal and Jarowair People, whose country spans the foothills and escarpment of the Great Dividing Range and into the Darling Downs. This land and its deep cultural connection to their ancestors has also been home to many generations whose origins lie elsewhere. In this piece, the handwoven jute with an ink overlay reflects the rich, textured landscape of the place where I live. The interplay between the organic fibres and imbued ink represents the connection between self, nature, and familial histories. This work expresses a profound appreciation for place and explores the ongoing relationship between the land and its inhabitants.
