Biography
Based in Canberra, Sharon Rynehart is an expressive palette knife artist who balances her artistic practice with the demands of family life as a wife and mother of three. Prior to returning to painting, she worked as an Interior Designer and Colour Consultant until 2018. Following significant health challenges, Sharon revisited her passion for painting, which she had initially studied in school, using it as a form of physiotherapy, and she hasn’t put the brush, (well, palette knife!) down since.
Sharon joins Downlands under the collection of Aspire Gallery (Brisbane, Qld).Influences
Sharon draws inspiration from the sea, land, and sky, with views of the Brindabella ranges and a nearby reserve fueling her creativity. Her passion for the coast is reflected in her work, influenced by headlands, shorelines, and the light through clouds. Scenic road trips and her hometown of Wagga Wagga also inspire her roadscapes, often featuring her signature pink road. Her figurative seascapes, capturing moments between families, are deeply influenced by coastal holidays.
