Artist’s Statement
Sharon’s artwork is a vibrant reflection of her journey and surroundings. Rediscovering oil painting in March 2022 sparked a profound transformation, driving her to pursue art as a career and strive for artistic excellence. Her work, influenced by modern impressionism, is characterized by bright, bold colors and a dynamic play of light. Sharon employs thick brush strokes and works with wet layers to create lush textures, bringing her subjects to life with vivid expression.
Biography
Sharon’s passion for painting began early, inspired by her grandfather, an oil painter whose landscapes left a lasting impression on her. A personal tragedy in her late 20s led her to pause her painting practice, during which time she channeled her creativity into photography and fashion design. The pandemic brought a new chapter as she relocated to Lancefield, where the natural beauty reignited her artistic spirit. Sharon has since embraced painting fully, committing herself to continuous learning and growth as an artist.
