Rosemaree Loredo

Rosemaree Loredo

  • Artist’s Statement

Emerging artist Rosemaree Loredo draws on her life experiences to tell stories of another side of life that many would not have been exposed to.

With a 35year career as a midwife and nurse which has taken Rosemaree overseas and to rural and remote areas of Australia. Using sculpture made from reclaimed materials and ceramics she draws inspiration from the places she has been and people she has met. Some stories are raw and confronting while others are filled with the joy she finds in the ever changing Australian landscape and its flora.

Currently a student at the University of Southern Queensland where she is working her way through a Bachelor of Visual Arts, Rose is exploring what the art world has to offer as she has released her children into the world and she herself strives for a balanced working life as a midwife, nurse and artist.
