Artist’s Statement
Loves to express her life experiences and memories through her artwork. Endless sketch books, capturing scenes and moments in pencil later to become artworks in watercolour or pastels for all to enjoy.
Biography
Madeline Herbert was born in London, England and studied at Ealing Art College. Arriving in Australia in 1960 she commenced studies with Roy Churcher at Kangaroo Point in Brisbane.
Her love of art is in the media of pastel and watercolour. Finally settling in Maleny she worked and studied with George Hazzard.
Currently residing on the Sunshine Coast where she runs weekly art classes.
Over the years has had long extended stays in Europe, mainly France and Italy.
Madeline travelled to Greece in 2005, 2008, Umbria and Tuscany Italy 2009,
Her paintings can be found in collections in Canada, USA, Hong Kong, New Zealand, UK, Singapore, Tasmania, Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne.
