Rachel Prince
Artist Statement
I am a lover of light in the landscape. I paint landscapes and places in nature while they are in the midst of a beautiful light moment. From road trips and coastal beauty, to the captivating views of the sky and mountains from the back verandah of my home. I love capturing those everyday moments in the landscape that are treasured, special to me and often fleeting. The shifting light across the sky, the ocean or landscape creates a special memory or moment. My recent paintings channel these feelings and emotions evoked by my experiences of natural landscapes.
Biography

Influences
The sky is the main influence in my work. The shifting light and how it constantly changes I find fascinating. I enjoy capturing a 'light moment' in my work that reflects the mood and atmosphere depicted at the time. Artists that influence my work include Turner, Monet and Pissarro.
