Judith Dalozzo
Artist Statement
Art is about curiosity for me. I love exploring different subjects, styles and techniques, allowing each painting to become something new. Rather than following one path, I enjoy letting the work evolve naturally. Whether I'm painting a quiet still life, a vibrant city scene or an Australian landscape, I'm always inspired by the way light transforms colour, shape and mood. My aim is to create paintings that bring a sense of beauty, calm and balance. Oil remains my favourite medium for detailed paintings, while acrylics give me the freedom to work boldly with colour and texture on a larger scale. If someone pauses in front of one of my paintings, feels something, or simply enjoys living with it, then I've achieved what I set out to do.
Biography
Judith Dalozzo (b. 1971, Adelaide) is a Gold Coast–based contemporary artist working across still life, florals, urban landscapes and abstract works. Raised in a creative, bohemian family, she was immersed in a professional art environment from an early age and completed her first oil painting at just nine years old under the guidance of her mother, a practising artist who has made a living from her work since the 1990s. With a career spanning over three decades, Judith has exhibited widely throughout Australia and internationally, with her work held in private and institutional collections around the world. Time spent studying in Europe, including in Mons, Belgium, was a formative influence on her artistic direction. Known for her intuitive use of colour, texture and form, Judith creates emotive, tactile paintings that invite viewers to slow down and connect with the quiet beauty found in everyday moments.
Influences
Travel, nature and everyday moments continue to inspire me, and as I grow as an artist, my work continues to grow with me.
