Biography

Pavel Forman is a Czechoslovakian artist. Born in 1920, he was a painter, graphic artist and illustrator and theatre designer. He emigrated ito Australia in 1968 after the Soviet-led invasion of Czechoslovakia. He spent the rest of his life in Australia and became known particularly for his landscape paintings which were inspired by the Australian landscape, often painted in a traditional realist style. He was the brother of well-known film director Milos Forman. Forman died in 2008.
