Artist Statement

Aaron works in inks and acrylics to give form to concepts, myths and thoughts. Their pieces are heavy with narrative, each piece is a sliver, a snap shot of a larger evolving story. They work with upcycled wood and secondhand frames in an effort to reduce their environmental footprint.

Biography

Aaron Hine is a self taught artist from Toowoomba, Queensland. Inspired by cartoons, comic books, sci fi and fantasy their works explore themes of human nature and society. Their pieces are layered with story and metaphor often hiding in humour and bright colours. Since beginning to exhibit seriously in 2023, Aaron has organised and exhibited in many exhibitions in Toowoomba, Brisbane and Ipswich.
