Those magical two days began my ‘love affair’ with colour, dyes and opportunities to display the results in framed wall art, soft hanging wall art, banners, scarves, ties, doona covers, quilts, pillow cases, cushions, quilted jackets, dust jackets, shirts, dressing gowns, lingerie, small and large group art projects and wearable art.

Taught silk dyeing across the Darling Downs, Sunshine Coast and to thousands of students from Prep to University levels, parents and teachers. I volunteered , demonstrating various techniques to hospices, disadvantaged, Church groups and service clubs.Over my career of silk dyeing I have been fortunate to be awarded prizes at agricultural shows across the Downs. In 2008, I won the champion prize at the Sunshine Coast Show for my silk painting titled ‘lizard in the outback’. Immanuel Lutheran College, Scots College and Downlands College have exhibited and sold several pieces of my work. My silk work can be seen on walls and foyers around Australia, up stairwells and down hallways across several countries including Papua New Guinea, South Africa, England, Russia and New Zealand.Since 2017, I have retired from full time teaching and, until recently, followed other pursuits. However, the bug has struck again.
