Kat Adams (Little Pottery Corner) re-established her ceramics practise in 2024 using a tiny electric kiln measuring just 8 inches cubed of internal space. This has proved very beneficial for her in making small sculptural forms. The turnaround time for pieces is short, and lessons can be learned quickly regarding glaze, clay bodies and forms. She admits she is a little obsessed with zebras, and has been inspired by the work of Danish ceramic artist, Simon Maltha. Kat also works with the exciting Raku firing method. She fires her Raku and the occasional large piece with the help of local potters Peter Bright and Anne Wright, and through membership of the Darling Downs Potters Club.
I studied art at Qld College of Art. I was an art teacher for ten years, and owned and operated a screen printing business for 13 years. Since then I have been a professional long-arm quilter. Having recently re-discovered ceramics it is now my main interest.
