Judith Melloy
Artist Statement
My artwork is inspired by a lifelong connection to nature, shaped by growing up in the rural and farming districts of Australia. From an early age, I was captivated by the birds and wildlife that surrounded me, and this fascination continues to influence the subjects I choose to paint. I enjoy capturing the beauty, personality, and quiet moments found in the natural world — from the character of birds and animals to the peaceful landscapes that evoke memories of home. Through soft pastels, I am able to explore colour, texture, and light to bring these moments to life. After many years of enjoying painting as a personal passion, I am now embracing the opportunity to share my work with others. Each painting is a reflection of my appreciation for nature, the memories that have shaped me, and the joy I find in creating.
