I'm especially drawn to nature, birds, flowers, and landscapes, and often include a hint of humor in my work. Acrylic is my go-to medium, and I lean toward realism and impressionism. I'm especially drawn to nature, birds, flowers, and landscapes, and often include a hint of humor in my work. Acrylic is my go-to medium, and I lean toward realism and impressionism. I’m inspired by artists who can express so much with just a few brushstrokes. For me, the creative process is everything; I love getting absorbed in the work and pushing myself until a piece feels just right.
Growing up on a farm surrounded by never-ending paddocks, towering gums, open skies, and an abundance of animals gave me a deep appreciation for nature and a slower pace of life. Encouraged to be creative from a young age, I found painting to be a meaningful way to connect with my surroundings and express the beauty I saw in the world. That creative passion has followed me through life in rural New South Wales, Switzerland, Gladstone, Brisbane, and now Dalby. While I’ve explored many forms of art; crochet, embroidery, sewing, woodwork, resin, and digital, acrylic painting remains my favourite medium. I’m especially drawn to the tactile, deliberate nature of brushstrokes and how they can capture memory, emotion, and a strong sense of place. Nature is at the core of my work, both as a subject and as a reminder to slow down and observe its stillness, detail, and quiet beauty. As my artistic journey continues to evolve, I aspire to further explore how light, colour, and texture can evoke emotion and create space for reflection.
