Artist Statement

Upon retiring I wanted to keep my mind active and keep on learning new skills proving that an old dog can learn new tricks. I submit my bird images and records to an American university as a citizen scientist on a regular basis and the images I collect of the natural world are used in my images. I have also attempted some patterns and abstract images which are not based necessarily on photography.

Biography

Now an octogenarian I took up bird photography and birds feature frequently in my works. I use only images taken by myself over a period of years in various locations and of various subjects, including portraiture. I digitally manipulate my images on a computer, swapping and relocating subjects and adding and changing backgrounds.

Influences

I've been influenced by the Bauhaus movement and various surrealist artists

Surat on Balonne Gallery. 2021 I was invited to produce and exhibition of my works by the gallery after competing in their photographic competitions for several years. The exhibition was entitled "Die Gedanken sind Frei" (Thoughts are free) Rosalie Gallery , Goombungee 2024 My exhibition was entitled " Today is my Moment"
