Artist Statement

I love early mornings and late afternoons-the golden hour-when long shadows and beautiful light move through trees and across the countryside.  I am inspired by the incredible beauty of the Australian landscape and I particularly enjoy painting en plein air.  Some of my favourite subjects include back roads, old barns, gum trees and the coast.  My aim is to compose a painterly image which captures the beauty and atmosphere  of the subject.

Biography

Pauline is a watercolour painter living in Highfields.  She is captivated by the freshness and beauty of watercolour and has been painting in watercolour for over 25 years.  She is a member of the Watercolour Society of Queensland and the Toowoomba Art Society.  Over the years she has received numerous awards and commendations and has participated in many mixed exhibitions, exhibiting widely in Queensland and New South Wales.  She has tutored in watercolour for the Watercolour Society of Queensland.

Apart from the influence that comes from the world surrounding me, I have been fortunate over the years to have been influenced by many excellent tutors in Australia and overseas.
