Artist Statement
I love the beauty of nature & gain inspiration for my artwork from travelling in Australia & overseas. To create light filled watercolour paintings is my biggest joy & if someone loves my creations enough to hang in their home, then that is a bonus.
Biography
Painting in Watercolour for over 25 years, my art pieces are mostly realistic, with more impressionistic landscapes. In 2025 I was one of 32 selected in the Australian Watercolour Muster & this year was selected to represent Australia at the Urbino Festival, Italy. I love the challenge of experimenting with new mediums & have enjoyed tutoring for over 10 years. For the past few years, I have been creating Botanical Printing mixed media & some printmaking. A member of the Toowoomba Art Society & the Crow's Nest Art Group, my art hangs in private collections here in Australia, USA, New Zealand & Italy.
Influences
I love to paint Still Life - in art galleries I am always drawn to paintings of everyday objects. When I am out walking, there is always a collection of roadside weeds that can be taken home & used in art works. As the owner of a Garden Centre in another life, I love to incorporate plants & flowers from generous friends or use what I have in my own garden.
Awards
I have received over 30 art awards, including an award in the prestigious Doyles Art Exhibition (Gold Coast).
Exhibitions
I regularly exhibit in group exhibitions & five years ago was delighted to be one of the feature artists for the InStudio Art Trail. I am involved in this year's 15th InStudio Art Trail. I am a member of the Toowoomba Art Society's Exhibition Committee & help hang the monthly exhibitions also.
