Artist Statement

I am a landscape artist. For me the Australian landscape emanates majesty, grandeur and magic, it has elements of nurturing, mothering, widowing. Over the years I have painted it in many ways, my response involving how I feel when I see. Whether I am in the dry inland, on the coast or looking over our majestic ranges, I resonate with its toughness, its tenderness, its sheer beauty. See my CV h…

I trained with Mervyn Moriarty's Flying Arts School in outback Queensland where I've lived and worked on the family cattle property for many years. I paint the land I love and travel - its forests, deserts, open plains, shores, its stories and its wide diversity of people, plants & animals. New scenery gives new directions and a recent move to the edge of the Great Dividing Range is giving food for thought and a slow shift in palette.
