A land of extreme contrasts, I also aspire to share its harsh colourful beauty and its history. The soft blue-grey distance and colours of the Australian landscape and atmosphere challenge me to create artwork that conveys Australia’s unique light. A land of extreme contrasts, I also aspire to share its harsh colourful beauty and its history. I enjoy creating works that show space and distance or tell a story of relationships, freedom or exploration. My work is traditional in style using oil on board or canvas. I also enjoy creating florals and beach scenes in pastel and working with graphite or pen to create detailed works. I have started painting full time this year and really enjoy the time available to expand and experiment.

Growing up in S.W Queensland inspired Alison to paint the beauty of the Australian Landscape. Early influences were the Australian Impressionists. She is passionate about painting people and places, conveying a sense of space and tranquility. Experienced in a variety of media, early works were commissions of buildings and rural subjects to preserve these structures in art form for future generations. She was awarded the Australia Day Cultural Award for Mundubbera Shire for services to Art, and won multiple prizes in the Region for her artworks. Her work has been acquired by Shire and City Councils, Government Departments as well as by private collectors nationally. She has been selected as an Exhibiting Finalist in the Lethbridge Landscape Prize, The Doyles, Brisbane Rotary Art Show and Camberwell Art Show Melbourne. She is now painting full time and excited about sharing the wonders of nature, the seasons, people and places in art form.
