Pam Shipman
Artist Statement
My works tend to be realistic in approach and my enjoyment comes from the creation of 3D images and the variety of textures I am called upon to render. Animals and the natural environment are my go subjects
Biography
Pastel has been my chosen medium ever since reconnections with my creative side post works and family responsibilities. Several professional pastel artists have guided my skill development and I owe thanks to Tricia Reust, Louise Corke and Maxine Thompson. I have enjoyed some success with sales and competitions
Influences
Most recent influence has come from two overseas artists, Gail Sibley and Dawn Emerson. Their different approaches have encouraged me to think more about design of the works and the variety of methods. It always leads to a more exiting image that did not seem possible in the beginning.
