Artist Statement
I find the creaminess and viscosity of oils and pastel paint captures the bright and true colour of the composition and makes an easy mark on the paper to show detail. I have attended 3 x McGregor art schools where I have learnt preparation of works and new techniques. The light and expression captured by the early Australian Impressionists and Tonalists, are my inspiration as I strive to find my own style .
Biography
Born in Wynnum, Queensland, surrounded by my Dutch mother's impressionist works, my school years were spent gazing out at the azures of Moreton Bay, starting me on a lifelong adventure to capture colour and light. I attempt to recreate colour and placement that appeals to me most and to record our current history in paint and pastel.
