2017 – Charlie Boyle

Charlie Boyle, Feature Artist 2017, has been associated with the Downlands Art Exhibition since it’s inception. He is an established and recognised painter, printmaker and sculptor, known for both his figurative and abstract work. Coming from Scotland, where he was both a student and lecturer at the world-famous Glasgow School of Art, his teaching career continued as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Southern Queensland as did his professional practice. He is now the Director of the Toowoomba Art Society, where he currently runs a weekly class.

Charlie continues to exhibit within Australia and internationally. This new body of work is based on the local Darling Downs landscape and some Asian and Scottish images. For the first time at Downlands he will also show some pieces of sculptor.

A supporter, volunteer and exhibiting artist for the three decades of continuous Downlands Exhibition excellence, Charlie has agreed to exhibit in September this year.
