This painting is from a body of work produced during an arts residency in 2019 Portugal, in the rural Alentejo. They are ‘of’ the landscape but not ‘the landscape’. They are informed by walking on the land, by observing the changing atmospheres of hues, light and dust, and integrating these sensory experiences into something indiscernible yet felt.
