"Sleeping Tiger Lily" celebrates the quieter moments, where we sleep and dream, and embrace feelings of serenity and peace. The dichotomy of the restful sleeping tiger, the tiger we know that embodies strength and power. The seeming weightlessness of him sleeping on a waterlily, and the play on the word tiger lily, creates a restful but powerful image all in one. The slow and methodical painting process allowed me to enter the meditative state this piece embodies.
