I stayed at Mt Tully about 2 1/2 years ago and this scene has reverberated with me since. It is so reflective of the beautiful Granite Belt: Dali-esque shaped monoliths, eucalypts and that big blue sky. I have painted many scenes from the Stanthorpe region but this is the first I have drawn.
Drawing was a slower process than painting, and it was wonderful, I relived the scene with the colour and light- the memory so vivid I could almost smell the landscape.
I wish you the same enjoyment from viewing the work.
