Artist’s Statement
"Since moving to Maleny, I found what I've been looking for, a professional painter for over 12 years. "I love to explore and experiment with my work, have fun and inject as much intensity and feeling into my paintings. My subjects are usually local, thanks to my breathtaking surroundings, plus a long term love of all things county.

Vanessa Perske's paintings bring color and a sense of fun to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland,
There is a depth of warmth and passion in each of her subjects, mostly focused on Australiana, with detail that brings a special spark of joy.

Perske proudly contributes through her artwork to the Love Your Sister Charity, Samuel Johnson's challenge to banish Cancer, famously recognised characters of "Barry the Emu and "Gerry the Giraffe". Perske has held four solo shows and twice entered the prestigious Archibald Prize.
