Artist’s Statement
My paintings this year focus on the beauty of unique Australian flowers.
Biography
My love of painting and drawing began as a child, when I would create countless potato prints on paper to grace the walls of my family’s rambling old home.
As a pre-teen, I attended oil painting lessons in Rockhampton before moving with my family to Bathurst Island in 1974. This experience further enriched my love of art and creativity, and much of my free time was spent at Bima Wear Screen Printing and
Sewing Factory.
In 2008, I attended a weekend oil painting workshop, where my passion for painting and drawing was re-ignited. Since then, I've attended several USQ McGregor Schools to extend my skills and knowledge and to learn new techniques for incorporation into my art.
In 2010, realizing a lifelong dream, I travelled with an art group to the Greek Islands. Spending three weeks drawing and painting under the Mediterranean sun with like-minded artists was the adventure of a lifetime.
Life on the beautiful Darling Downs provides endless inspiration for me.Influences
