Gesture, space, and rhythm are core to my art expression and practice. Focus on materials and an emotive use of colour and gesture come from my desire to express both physical and spiritual reality.
Sharon Roberts has exhibited in solo, collaborative and group shows for over two decades. Having lived in the bush and in the city, her larger studio artworks are expressive, abstracted paintings often informed by landscape. She is regularly outdoors, sketchbook in hand, observing and responding to the location. Sharon's life and art are contemplative and spiritual. Meaning is imbued in the work not only through the subject, but also colour, composition, process, and materials.
