Artist’s Statement

Having lived in the bush, the outback and urban environments, landscape has a significant place in my art practice. Although frequently outdoors sketching, the majority of my work happens in the studio.  My use of colour is informed by colour relationships and an emotive or expressive quality. Together with gesture, space and rhythm this conveys a sense of place.
