Nick Coulson
Artist’s Statement
Nick’s work references popular culture, everyday objects and art history. Nick does not attempt to hide the processes of construction. These marks often show the problems solved in the making. Constant throughout is an attention to detail, surface qualities and process.
Exhibitions
The artist was a finalist in the 2022, 2021 and 2020 Lethbridge 20000 Small Scale Art Award, 2021 Hawkesbury Art Prize, 2021 Stanthorpe Art Prize, 2020 and 2018 Byron Arts Magazine Prize and the 2019 and 2018 Eutick Memorial Still Life Award. Coulson has been part of group exhibitions in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, and his work is held in private collections in Australia, North America and the United Kingdom.
