Artist’s Statement
Australia’s vast native spaces humble me, I hope to paint the story of our unique environment, the grace, humility, synergy and symbiosis of Australia’s natural habitat. I paint with emotion associated with this land and hope to convey the humility I feel when I gaze upon this our native landscape. In harmony like our native plant world together we can better care for her our heart land, Australia and each other.

Influences
The great Impressionists, particularly Monet with his use of light and colour as the describing language for form and his minimal use of paint stroke particularly in his later works. Van Gogh for his energy in texture and zeal for thick impasto which for me reveal his opinion of composition importance. Klimt for his commitment to pattern bordering on chaos and clutter but visually maintaining calm beauty. Clifford How for his astonishing bold palette knife technique and command of composition.
