From my childhood I always loved drawing and performed well at school in the creative arts. I believe we all have gifts and talents in some area or another so it seemed logical to me to develop my skills and branch out into painting. Even though I have had many years away from painting with family and work commitments, I have recently retired and am again returning to what I enjoy and what I can share with others to hopefully enjoy also.
Marilyn has recently retired and moved from the Gold Coast to the Lockyer Valley with her husband Ken. An artist for over 30 years, Marilyn trained in the fundamentals with oils including structure, colour, perspective etc and has now branched out into other mediums including acrylics and pencil, and is inspired by Australian landscapes, birdlife, wildlife and historical buildings. Pet portraits also feature in her work with a keen eye for detail. Marilyn enjoys exhibiting her artwork in local galleries and cafes and shares her work on social media.
My love of nature dominates my work whether it be birdlife, wildlife, domestic animals or pets and landscapes. My aim is to bring my subject to life so that every day people can relate to my artwork.
