Artist’s Statement
Kathleen has a natural affinity to colour combined with an appreciation of texture and structure in her unique application of Mixed Media.
Biography
Kathleen is a Mixed Media artist from Canberra. She is a member of ACT Art Society and Queanbeyan Art Society.
She developed her interest in art in her teenage years at Boarding School in Qld. However two postings to South East Asia and raising three children through the 70's caused a hiatus in her artistic development.
On returning to Canberra from Jakarta she completed three years of a continuing education practical art course at ANU followed up by attending Art Classes by various well known Art Tutors locally and interstate.
Her grandchildren attend Downlands.
Influences
Kathleen's art continues to develop but remains influenced by her travels and experiences in Asia.
Awards
Kathleen has received several first prizes in the Mixed Media category and a Highly Commended in the Heritage Prize at the Royal Canberra Agricultural Show. Her art was selected and featured on the 2010 Capital Chemist Calendar.
Exhibitions
Kathleen has exhibited widely in ACT, NSW, and Qld .
