Artist’s Statement
Karen continues to create landscapes of more remote areas of Australia that she have been lucky enough to visit and enjoy with her bushwalking friends and artists. She fears for the future of the world’s natural wilderness areas and hopes to leave behind painted images of the world pre-climate change as a reminder to mankind of their careless neglect.
Biography
Emerging Artist, Karen Collins was born and bred in Brisbane. She has also lived in London, Sydney and Melbourne.
As a keen traveller and amateur photographer since her early 20’s, Karen has collected many images in her camera and her head from all over the world which she now shares through her oil paintings.
Now back in her home town of Brisbane, she continues to travel (COVID permitting), photograph and enjoy nature, all of which never fail to inspire her paintings.
Karen also runs ART ST (www.artst.com.au), an online gallery for some of Brisbane’s emerging Artists.
