  • Artist’s Statement

In Toowoomba, we are blessed having some lovely parks and gardens, and lately I have been painting florals as my subject matter. In keeping with our beautiful Carnival of Flowers, I have included my favourite flower – Sunflowers, for the Downlands Art Exhibition, a vibrant acrylic artwork aptly named “Sunshine in a Vase”

  • Biography

Having started drawing during my childhood, I studied art in my final school years, but am largely a self-taught painter. Growing up on the Sunshine Coast, and having spent most of my life in North West Qld, Toowoomba is now my home.
This year, my awards have included:-
Champion of both Dalby, and Jandowae Shows 2021
Packing Room Prize - Bell Art Exhibition 2021
Peoples Choice Award – Crows Nest Show 2021
Oakey Art Award 2021 – with a tutored workshop of my choice

  • Influences

My surrounds are my influence. When I was living in outback Queensland, I generally painted animals and loved charcoal, ink or acrylic. Now in Toowoomba, it is mainly florals in acrylic
