My main medium is stained glass, I love the texture, the variety of colour and the way the light catches the surface of the glass, changing how a finished piece can look from different angles. I enjoy doing abstract designs using one bold colour, my designs are fluid and ever evolving as I work, following the shape of the form.
Every piece of glass in my work is hand cut and glued by me, this means that no two pieces will ever be the same.
I have been working with stained glass for over 25 years and mosaics are my passion. I now work from my new larger studio space on the Sunshine Coast. I have exhibited both locally here in Australia in The Butter Factory, Cooroy, The Art Hub in Cooroy and also overseas in the Plano Art Gallery, Dallas, Texas.
This year will be my third year participating in the very popular Noosa Open Studios.
I am greatly influenced by the andamento style of mosaic, which refers to the flow or movement of the tesserae. I like repeat, simple structured designs that follow the curves and shape of a form.
