  • Artist’s Statement

Working with pastels is in some ways like working with clay. I love the immediacy of working with raw materials. Pastels are a very tactile medium, really it’s the  ultimate form of finger painting! I love that pastels are the purest form of pigment, the same pigment as in oil paints but with so much less binder, such brilliant pure colour.

  • Biography

After working for many years as a ceramic artist I sought a change of direction in my art. I discovered the joy of working in pastel after attending USQ workshops under the direction of Master Pastellist Lynn Diefenbach. My current works continue to develop my interests in portraying animals and people.
