Fiona Hayes
Artist’s Statement
I am primarily a watercolour artist, as it is a slightly unpredictable medium to use, but one that can have glorious results. I am attracted to landscape painting and enjoy painting houses and streetscapes. What catches my eye, and attracts me to a subject are the shapes of buildings and particular features that stand out, like a striped awning on a shop front. I also find the urban clutter, such as signage and power poles another interesting feature in a painting.
More recently, I have started to include still life art using an acrylic medium.Biography
