My painting style varies, but I often like to paint showing a focal point, using a method to soften the edges of the painting so those parts are more “suggested”, and with less detail. My purpose for this is for the viewer’s eye to see the picture as a whole, but come back to the focal point of interest, to see the smaller details depicted. My paintings are done en plein air or from my home studio.
I particularly love to paint landscapes, seascapes and street scenes.
I am a watercolour artist, living in Warwick. I commenced my art journey in 2015, when I undertook initial watercolour instruction in Warwick, having no previous drawing or painting experience.
From 2016 onwards, I have undertaken a number of workshops, being tutored by well known Australian artists, both in Australian workshops and also ones in Italy and England.
I have entered many competitions and exhibitions over the past 5 years, achieving numerous prizes. Sales and commissions now see my paintings in homes in countries worldwide, including Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada, Colombia, South Africa, Thailand, England and Malaysia.
I have held 2 successful solo exhibitions in the past 2 years, and am currently working towards my 3rd exhibition, to be held at the Warwick Art Gallery in November 2022.
The artist who has had the most influence on my style of work, is Australian watercolour artist, John Lovett.
