Artist’s Statement
Although now living within a stone's through of the beach, I have a very deep connection to Australia's bush. It is this connection which moves me to paint country life in its many forms. Whether it be the landscape, charming old buildings, farm animals, or fauna, I feel a great affinity and desire to paint.
Biography
My art is inspired by the Australian landscape and flora as I travel this amazingly contrasting country. I spent my early childhood on my family's sheep and cattle property near Bollon in semi-arid south west Queensland, before moving to Jindabyne in the NSW Snowy Mountains. Now I live with my husband in coastal south east Queensland; and my son and daughter and their families are nearby.
I work predominantly with watercolour, adding Inktense pencil, graphite Aquarelle and ink as desired.
Influences
Australia. Colour. Textures. Harsh natural beauty.
