Artist’s Statement

Cindy Grimes is an artist in the Western Downs. At the heart of Cindy’s arts practice is her connection to her rural backyard. She enjoys exploring the local narratives, telling the stories of the landscape, family and community. Of course other subjects creep in, especially memories of recent travels.
Working mainly with acrylics and experimenting with mixed media and watercolour, Cindy enjoys having fun with line, colour and layers of paint. Whatever tells the story!
Cindy paints regularly with the Glenmorgan Art Group and relishes the camaraderie of art retreats to the Bunyas and beyond. She exhibits regularly in the Western Downs.
