My paintings reflect the love of family, relationships, warmth and human connection. I am passionate about expressing emotions through the visual mode and capturing life in the moment. I hope the figures in my artwork evoke a sense of beauty, solace, intrigue and mystery.
Art is a continuing journey, one which is both exciting and challenging, ever changing and growing. Dipping into the Alcohol Ink medium has been an enjoyable recent development.
Caroline is an impressionist and abstract visual artist specialising in oil paintings. She developed a love of nature from her upbringing, visiting Sydney's national parks and beaches, and exploring Bowral at flower festival time. Later years living in Alice Spring led to a deeper appreciation of the diverse and beautiful Australian landscape. During this time she studied Painting and Drawing for 3 years at Centralian College, Alice Springs NT (now a campus of Charles Darwin University).
Since 2004 Caroline has been based in Kingsthorpe west of Toowoomba QLD.
My art is influenced by the familiar things around me, family, relationships, nature - the amazing beauty of God's creation. From childhood I loved to draw and paint, something I inherited from my mother. Moving from Sydney to Victoria, to Central Australia and finally to the Darling Downs there has been much to observe and absorb, contributing to my life journey and development as an artist. Further influences: the impressionist movement, art books, lessons by Harry Hart at TAS and art friends.
Caroline has participated and won awards in various exhibitions in the Toowoomba Region.
Regular participation in local art exhibitions, such as the annual Downlands College Art Exhibition and in the Toowoomba Art Society Annual Spring Exhibition held during the Carnival of Flowers. Caroline's work is also available at Murray's Art & Framing Ruthven St, and at Rosalie House Lilyvale, QLD.
