“For the past 40 years I have been excited, even a little obsessed with the challenge of working with clay. I enjoy handling it, playing with it and trying out new possibilities. This love of experimentation has led me to create a versatile range of ceramic pieces, from multiple-fired metallic lustres to fine porcelain origami bowls. For me the process of making is equally as satisfying as the finished work.”
Carol Forster has completed a Diploma in Fine Art; a Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching and then a Bachelor of Fine Art. She focussed on ceramics and worked for many years as an Instructor in Art and Design at TAFE, QLD. Carol’s ceramics are greatly inspired by the environment. She is a keen bushwalker and observer of nature, but likes to combine these aspects to create thought-provoking artworks of beauty and contemplation. Her works have been acquired into collections from Queensland to Korea and she has been awarded many prizes for both ceramics and sculpture.
Her skills continue to be honed by her own research and experimentation.
