Artist’s Statement
Elements of 'Shaker' design and early European 'Staked' furniture combine with the floating top, to create a feeling of lightness and elegance.
Designed and built by hand in Old Growth Rose Mahogany, hand-finished in all natural hard wax oil which allows the feel of the timber to be experienced whilst providing a suitable level of protection.Biography
Brian Cotter is a retired Australian Army Veteran. He is a self taught wood crafter with a keen interest in designing and creating every-day objects with an artistic influence. His work is primarily made with reclaimed timbers and the majority of his woodwork is made by hand, using traditional tools and joinery techniques.
