  • Artist’s Statement

    My artistic process has evolved throughout my practice, with a more distinctive style emerging in recent years. Part of my process involves using a digital canvas to manipulate my hand drawn illustrations with different textural elements - such as ripped paper, peeling paint or natural elements like sand - to impact the work in different ways.

    I also work with traditional mediums such as acrylic, watercolour, and collage.

    From the vibrant hues of native flowers to delicate feathers of birds, each piece is carefully constructed to invite viewers to look closer.

    Each exhibited work is a one-off original piece.

    Bethany Lawrence is an award-winning Australian contemporary artist whose works capture the essence of the natural world.

    Working with both traditional and modern mediums, Bethany’s distinctive works have been exhibited throughout Australia.

    With a keen eye for detail and a love of mark-making, Bethany uses innovative techniques to create intricate and textured pieces that invite you to look closer.

    My artwork is deeply inspired by the intricate beauty and serenity of the natural world. In an age where technology often distances us from the environment, my contemporary style aims to reimagine and celebrate nature’s essence through a modern lens.

    By blending vibrant colours, abstract forms, and innovative techniques, I aim to evoke a sense of wonder and connection to the natural landscape that surrounds us.

    Each piece is a tribute to the breathtaking diversity of nature.
