  • Artist’s Statement

    Images are painted on fabric and then components of the image is free form stitched, creating a further dimension of the artwork. Free form stitching is where the foot of the sewing machine is lifted allowing free movement of the fabric. A straight and zigzag stitch is the only stitching used in creating these artworks.

    This process was devised by Bernardine herself combining her love of painting and textiles

    Bernardine's work encompasses a love of nature of nature and has been a joyous journey to make . She make filed trips and photographs plants, landscapes, birds and insects and uses these images as inspiration to then draw her designs from.
