I enjoy experimenting with metals to see how far they can be extended to produce different effects for use in jewellery design. Recently a lot of my work has been experimenting more with colour, blackening some metals like copper to reduce the oxidation [discolouring] and changing dull grey titanium to bright blue and purple with flashes of gold.
My tutor at lthis years Winter School took me out of my comfort zone using pebbles, sea and antique glass and cuttlefish casting for unusual pieces.
Part time jeweller over 30 years.
Uses gold, silver, enamel, gemstones , titanium and lesser metals.
My 1st workshop was the Central School of Arts at Alpha and 4 others while I was living in the Meandarra District . I was so taken I immediately enrolled at McGregor Summer School. I have been greatly influenced by all these outstanding, talented tutors I have had in over 30 years of McGregor Summer Schools, plus Spring and Winter Schools. Some were perfectionist in techniques, some were more into design but all encouraged me to expand my horizons.
