  • Artist’s Statement

The inspiration to advance and develop my paintings came about with the desire to explore the immediacy and vibrancy of acrylics, a medium that dries quickly. I have attended several Mc Gregor Art Schools soaking up the styles and techniques of others also attending Life Drawing workshops with the Toowoomba Art Society loving the charcoal and graphite swiftness.. Recently I have dived into the unforgiving medium of watercolour loving the happy accidents created by this unassuming medium.

  • Biography

I live in Nobby, a small country town south of Toowoomba. I come from a family of creative and talented people. My siblings, parents, grand parents and great grandparents all had artist interests and skills. My artist Endeavors only began to emerge once my family were well on their way to independence.
I have exhibited at the Toowoomba Art Society siince 2017 and at Downlands Art Exhibition in 2018, 2019.

  • Influences

I am immensely inspired by a number of artists and especially the famous Ben Quilty, who speedily applies thick, delicious creamy, luscious paint at a gallops pace. Other artists I admire are Margaret Olley and Jenni Kelly, and Kendall. Margaret because of her great character and stamina, Jenni because of her colour knowledge, her lively techniques and Kendall for her unafraid creativity.
